Hello there! My name is Heather. I have been working as a full-time dietitian for 7 years — most of that time at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, MN. I recently made the tough choice to stay home with my kids. This change was drastic but has been oh-so fulfilling. I missed my kids so much and becoming a daycare mom has allowed me the best of both worlds!

However, as I care for my daycare families, I see the struggles of raising food-loving kids in this food-hating world. Because of this, I decided to offer nutrition counseling services to help families overcome feeding difficulties and develop a positive relationship with food.

In my practice, I uphold eating and feeding models of Ellyn Satter. She developed research-based models such as Feeding Dynamics, Competent Eating, and the Division of Responsibility. These basic Satter principles allow both parents and children to enjoy a meal together, work towards eating a variety of foods, and foster a great relationship with food. After all, that’s what it’s all about isn’t it?! As parents, we just want our kids to grow up to be happy, healthy adults. I promise to help you get there!
